MetroBACKUP attempts to merge similar contacts created on the phone, web or imported to avoid duplicate contacts. If the system cannot determine sufficiently that the contacts are the same, a duplicate will be created to avoid inaccurate merges.
For Android devices, duplicated contacts may be caused by the same contact being stored in multiple places, such as your MetroBACKUP account and your Google account. In this scenario, if you have setup MetroBACKUP prior to your Google account, the contacts will be duplicated in your MetroBACKUP account.
